With so much doom and gloom in the business pages it is nice when one reads of a company that is expanding. Economy Forms of Canada (EFCO) is to start construction of an over 40,000 sq. ft expansion to its plant on Todd Road. EFCO who makes steel forms for concrete for the construction industry has been located in Georgetown since the 1960’s . They have produced steel forms for some of the largest construction projects in Canada including the Northumberland Strait Bridge which connects Prince Edward Island with the mainland.
There is more positive news for Halton Hills, the contractor who will build the expansion is McNally Ltd. another Halton Hills company. McNally Ltd. has operated in Georgetown since the 1950’s and has built many of the factories and schools in the area. They are also own a large inventory of industrial space where literally hundreds of local residents work.
The Town of Halton Hills also played a part in encouraging EFCO to expand by introducing the Economic Development Manufacturing Expansion Fund; the fund covers some of the Town’s fees for qualified companies.
Bernie Poirier District Manager of EFCO stated “We are pleased that our parent company has approved this expansion in Georgetown, it will allow our company to service our growing client list, we look forward to working with McNally Ltd.”
The Town of Halton Hills is located less that 60 Km from Toronto it has access to the 400 series highways. The community has an educated work force and boasts an unsurpassed quality of life for its residents. It is the ideal location for business in Southern Ontario.
