BREAKING NEWS: High Demand for H1N1 Flu Immunization Causes Halton to Change Clinic Schedules

Due to the demand for H1N1 immunizations across Halton, the Region’s Health Department has revised its clinic schedule to ensure the most efficient and effective administration of vaccines to residents.

Halton Region has now established four main sites across the region for the immunization clinics. They include one larger, site in each Local Municipality: Burlington, Halton Hills (Georgetown), Milton and Oakville. Each clinic can accommodate more staff and residents while allowing for extended hours to meet the demand for the vaccine.

“With these larger sites, we can have more nurses and staff working together to keep the process moving efficiently and ensure line ups move quickly,” said Dr. Bob Nosal, Halton’s Medical Officer of Health.

Beginning on Monday, November 2 , the four larger clinics will run as follows:

Clinics for the high priority groups will continue to run this weekend in both Oakville and Acton. The first set of clinics open to the general public begins on Monday, November 2. Residents can also sign up for weekly email alerts of H1N1 immunization clinics running in their area.
