Since being selected by WWF-Canada as one of just four Ontario municipalities to pilot The Good Life initiative, the collective greenhouse gas savings have grown steadily. As shown in Figure 1, between January and April 2009, greenhouse gas savings have grown from about 67,000 kilograms to 624,000 kilograms – more than a nine-fold increase.
Town of Halton Hills residents, businesses and organizations, including Town staff, Acton BIA, Georgetown BIA, Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce, Christ the King Catholic Secondary School, Georgetown District High School, McKenzie-Smith Bennett Public School, Robert Little Public School, Halton Hills Hydro, Town Environmental Advisory Committee, P.O.W.E.R. and Sustainable Halton Hills, have been key to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
