Recent decisions to revise busing policies by both local School Boards will make the majority of students in the Georgetown South and Stewarts Mill area no longer eligible for busing to both Georgetown High Schools. Mayor Bonnette and staff have been working with Tyler Transport, a local transportation company, to provide a “Complete Pay for Use” service to provide a transportation alternative to families impacted by School Board Policies.

“Even though it is not a Town responsibility, when the School Boards cancelled the school buses, we couldn’t sit idly by and not offer an alternative. A “Pay for Use Busing” service was “Plan B” as many in our community, including myself and Save Our Buses were unsuccessful in convincing the Trustees from the South, and the Minister of Education, to reverse this ill conceived decision to cancel buses” says Mayor Bonnette.

“I am very pleased that Ted and Angela of Tyler Transport stepped up to the plate to try and accommodate those students who have signed up through the Town of Halton Hills Georgetown South Busing Survey” says Mayor Bonnette.

Tyler Transport agreed to provide “Pay for Use” Busing for the 2009/2010 School year to both Christ the King and Georgetown District High School at a cost of $2.00 per trip.

Tickets will be available for sale (beginning Wednesday September 2, 2009) in sheets of ten (10) at a cost of $20.00 (including G.S.T.) from the Tyler Transport Office at:
