Dogs Answer the Bell in Game 2

The Halton Hills Bulldogs played a complete 60 minutes as they defeated Six Nations 9-6 on Saturday night in Georgetown. The Game 2 win evened the OJBLL Championship Series at 1-1. Game 3 will be played Sunday night at 7pm at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Six Nations.

After no scoring through the first 13 plus minutes of the first period, the Dogs scored three times in a span of 2:37 to leap ahead. It was a lead the Bulldogs would never give up. Six Nations scored a shorthanded goal late in the period to draw themselves back to within two goals trailing 3-1 after one period.

The two teams exchanged goals in the early part of the second period. The Dogs then rattled off three straight goals to take a 7-2 lead. The visiting Rebels got one of those goals back before the end of the second period to close the gap to 7-3.

Halton Hills scored the first two goals of the thrid period to give them their largest lead of the night 9-3 just 4:21 into the third period. Six Nations scored three more times before the final 20 expired with one coming on the powerplay and another coming with an extra attacker and the goalie pulled.

Game 3 is Sunday at the ILA at 7pm with Game 4 now scheduled for Wednesday night at 8pm in Georgetown at Alcott Arena. Prior to Wednesday’s game, the OJBLL will recognize the Eastern Conference Award Winners including Defensive Player of the Year, the Bulldogs Bradley Kri.
