Monday February 8, 2010

16:34 Hours – Fire Crews responded to a fire alarm activation at Bennett Centre,
1 Princess Anne Drive. A faulty detector in a room on the west wing of the centre
had caused the false alarm. The alarm system could not be reset until the faulty
detector had been replaced. As an interim measure maintenance staff, were
instructed to post a fire watch.

Tuesday February 9, 2010

08:53 Hours – Fire Fighters responded to the report of a possible chimney fire at
293 McDonald Blvd. A neighbor had seen what was believed to be a chimney fire
occurring and placed the call for assistance. The homeowners were away when
fire crews arrived on scene. No indication of a problem could be found. No
assistance was required.

12:54 Hours – Fire Fighters responded to the report of smoke coming from
under the bridge over the railway tracks in the area of 53 Maple Avenue.
Investigation revealed the source of the smoke to be coming from the exhaust of
an idling train. No assistance was required.

Thursday February 11, 2010

06:17 Hours – Fire Crews responded to a possible fire at 328 Guelph Street.
Investigation revealed that furnace exhaust coming from a vent on the first floor
was mistaken for smoke. No assistance was required.

11:05 Hours – A faulty detector was determined to be the cause of a CO alarm
activation at 90 Weber Drive. A thorough check of the home was completed but
no CO could be found. The homeowner was advised to replace the unit.

Saturday February 13, 2010

06:36 Hours – Fire Fighters responded, in a non-emergency situation, to Price
Choppers, 325 Guelph Street. Investigation revealed that staff had called in their
alarm company technician to complete minor repairs to the alarm panel. The
technician found a fault with the panel that would not allow it to be reset. The
owner was advised to post a fire-watch while the building was being occupied
and, advise the fire department when repairs were complete and the system was
back in service.

23:36 Hours – Fire Crews responded to assist Ambulance Staff with the lift of a
patient from her home at 282 McDonald Blvd.

Sunday February 14, 2010

10:52 Hours – Burnt food was the cause of a monitored residential fire alarm
activation that had fire fighters responding to 60 Munro Circle. No assistance was
required.

Milton Fire Department reported no response into Halton Hills this past week.

Space heaters need space, never place heaters too close to combustible materials.
