12:14 Hours – Fire Crews responded to a reported CO detector activation at 15263 Argyll Road. A faulty detector was determined to be the cause of the false alarm. No other assistance was required.

05:54 Hours – Fire Fighters responded to a reported attic fire at 9 Caroline Street. The caller reported a fire in the attic. Crews acted quickly and contained the fire to the upper portion of the home. Residents were very fortunate to have escaped, since there were no operating smoke alarms in the home. Fire loss was estimated at $30,000 to the structure.
14:46 Hours – Crews responded to a reported CO alarm activation at 45 Johnson Crescent. A thorough check of the home was conducted but no problems could be found. A faulty detector was determined to be the cause.

17:24 Hours – Crews responded to a reported CO detector activation at 128 Eaton Street. Fire Fighters checked the entire home but found no carbon monoxide present. A faulty detector was determined to be the cause. No other assistance was required.
21:56 Hours – Fire Crews responded to a motor vehicle collision, possible persons trapped, in the area of 168 Mountainview Road. A female passenger of one of the two vehicles involved was trapped until fire fighters could stabilize the vehicle and remove her.

07:59 Hours – Full time staff responded to investigate the report of possible smoke coming from the eave-trough at 9 Heather Court. Investigation revealed the homeowner had discarded several cigarette butts in a can near the downspout of his home. The rising smoke travelled up through the spout and, gave the impression to passers-by as though the eave trough was on fire. The smoldering cigarettes were extinguished and the owner was cautioned about proper disposal.
18:21 Hours – Fire Fighters responded to the report of a snowmobile on fire at 9646 Highway 7. The 1996 MXZ snowmobile, located beside the driveway, was fully involved when fire fighters arrived. Fire loss is estimated at $4000.00.

00:26 Hours – A reported CO alarm activation had fire crews responding to 78 Guelph Street. Fire Fighters checked the entire home but found no CO present. A faulty detector was determined to be the cause of the false alarm.
05:12 Hours – Fire Fighters responded to a check call at 21 Churchill Road South. A hydro outage had caused the alarm to activate at the Churchill Road Fire Station. The standby generator was in operation and no action was required.
08:34 Hours – Crews responded to a CO alarm activation at 44 Greenore Crescent. No problems were found. A faulty detector was determined to be the cause.
15:06 Hours – Fire Fighters were out to yet another CO detector activation, this time at 1 Brian Lane. Investigation revealed elevated levels of the gas was present. Union Gas was called into investigate and as well, EMS responded to assist the occupants. Further investigation revealed the probable source of the CO to be a range burner that had been left on the low setting. The home was ventilated and the concentration levels returned to normal. The homeowner was advised to have the range serviced.
23:18 Hours – Fire Fighters responded to a check call at 46 Holmesway Place. The caller reported that the alarm panel was making a beeping noise. Investigation revealed no reason for the trouble alarm. The panel was reset and no further assistance was required.

06:16 Hours – Fire Fighters responded to a residential alarm activation at 117 Miller Drive. A thorough investigation was conducted but no reason for the alarm activation could be found. The panel was reset and no further assistance was required.
07:30 Hours – Crews responded to a CO alarm activation at 40 Stockman Crescent. A check of the home was completed but no CO could be found. No assistance was required.
09:38 Hours – Burnt food is to blame for setting off the alarm system, at the Georgetown Christian Fellowship Church 13619 Highway 7. The alarm reset and no assistance was required.
10:31 Hours – Fire Fighters responded to a residential alarm activation at 1 Lewis Street. The homeowner had turned on the burner of her range but had forgotten to remove the decorative painted metal cover. No assistance was required.
17:56 Hours – Crews responded to a CO detector activation at 93 Delrex Blvd. A damaged faulty detector was found to be the source of the false alarm. The homeowner was advised to replace the unit.
19:36 Hours – Crews responded to yet another CO alarm activation, this time at 9 Bellmont Blvd. No Co was found and no assistance was required. Milton Fire responded to one call into Halton Hills over this past week.

20:10 Hours – Milton Fire Fighters responded to a 2 vehicle head-on collision at Steeles Ave and Hornby Road in Halton Hills. Extrication of passengers was required.
Carbon Monoxide alarms wear out over time. If you have a detector over 7 years old, consider replacement.
