
On November 23rd 2009 an alert loss prevention officer for the Georgetown Walmart contacted the Halton Regional Police to report ongoing fraudulent credit card transactions in excess of $14,000. The transactions were conducted by a store employee and two accomplices. The responding Georgetown uniform officers subsequently arrested the Walmart employee and one of the accomplices.
The ensuing investigation was continued by members of the Regional Fraud Unit, Milton Criminal Investigation Bureau, and the Guns and Gang Unit.
On November 24th the second accomplice in the investigation was arrested for his involvement which culminated in the Guns and Gangs Unit obtaining a Criminal Code Search Warrant for a Corey Circle address. A search by Investigators revealed a .38 “Snub nose” revolver with ammunition, a Prohibited Stun Gun, a large quantity of marihuana, and over 100 rounds of ammunition of various calibres.
Charged: James LABELLE (35yrs) of Georgetown.
LABELLE was held pending a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in Milton Court on the 25th of November 2009 at 9:00 am
Charged: Victoria HALL (22yrs) of Georgetown.
HALL charged and released from custody.
Charged: Calvin HUME (20yrs) of Georgetown.
HUME charged and released from custody.
