Georgetown Areanas Task Force Members Named

Following the Town of Halton Hills endorsement of the formation of a Georgetown Arenas Task Force at the Council Meeting of October 6, 2008, members of the Task Force have been identified.

Chairman Bryan Lewis said that ‘I am very pleased with the residents who have stepped up in the formation of the Georgetown Arenas Task Force. It represents the users of the facilities and residents who have a concern going forward to the amount of recreational uses the arenas may or may not supply.”

“The Task Force will have tremendous responsibility in mapping out a future blue print of our arena facilities, they are eager to get going” says Mayor Rick Bonnette.

The Task Force will hold their first meeting in the near future to set the Terms of Reference and start the process of investigation and researching the current and future needs of the Arenas in Georgetown.

Those named are:
Terry Alyman – Director of Recreation & Parks – Town of Halton Hills
Jay Anderson – President of Halton Men’s Hockey League
Rick Bonnette – Mayor of Halton Hills – Vice Chair
John Duncan – Councillor Ward 4 – Town of Halton Hills
Todd Kearney – President Halton Hills Minor Lacrosse Association
Dave Kentner – Councillor Ward 3 – Town of Halton Hills
Bryan Lewis – Councillor Ward 2 – Town of Halton Hills – Chair
Cheryl Nieuwendyk – resident of Halton Hills
Hal Pells – President of Georgetown Minor Hockey Association
Dennis Perlin – CAO – Town of Halton Hills
Laura Rees – President of Georgetown Skating Club
Grace Rylett – President of Halton Hills Twisters Hockey
Tom Wharton – resident of Halton Hills
John Templeman – Men’s non-contact Hockey League and also the
Men’s Ball Hockey League in Georgetown.
