
In October 2011, members of the Criminal Investigative Bureau executed four search warrants in Georgetown, which resulted in the arrest of seven local residents and a total of 73 charges being laid.
Over 120 pieces of stolen property were located. Many items have not been identified to a specific owner, including a metal detector. Click here to view photographs of some of the recovered property.
Halton Hills has seen an increase in the number of theft from autos over the same period in 2010.
There were 320 incidents reported from January-October 2011, up 19% from the same time period last year. The number of incidents involving insecure vehicles are also up from 79% in 2010 to 86% in 2011.
Milton, a Town much larger in size, has significantly fewer thefts; Georgetown residents are urged to lock their vehicles, and not keep anything of value in them.
