In an open letter to Premier Dalton McGuinty, Wellington Halton-Hills MPP Ted Arnott demanded that Groves Memorial Community Hospital be added to the top of the premier’s promised 10-year construction plan.

Mr. Arnott noted that Groves has been working toward its proposal since 2001.

“Surely this must be considered in any new hospital expansion plan and, consequently, Groves would be at or near the top of the list,” wrote Mr. Arnott.

Mr. Arnott also requested the specific criteria by which hospital redevelopment projects would be evaluated, and asked that the Premier keep his promise to release his 10-year plan in the fall.

In an April statement in the Legislature, Mr. Arnott pressed the Minister of Health to produce a firm construction timeline for the project.
