Halton Police Asking for Assistance in Late Night Attack

The Halton Regional police Service is asking for assistance of the public in an attack on a woman at Steeles Avenue and Fifth Line area in the early morning hours of Sunday September 25th.

The victim was walking on the south side of Steeles Avenue just east of Fifth Line at approximately 1:00 a.m. when she was approached from behind and knocked to the ground by an unknown assailant. The victim was able to fight off the male and he subsequently fled on foot from the area in a south western direction through a field.

Halton Police officers responded and a canine track was initiated with negative results.

The suspect is described as Male, dark complexion (possibly hispanic) 5 feet 11 inches, 170 pounds, shaved head, wearing blue jeans and some sort of t-shirt.

The suspect may have sustained facial injuries during the attack.

The Halton Regional Police Service continues to investigate this incident. Any person with relevant information is asked to contact the Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Bureau at (905) 465-8970 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
