Halton Region and Sheridan Nurseries invite residents to enter to win one of three Wise Outdoor Water Use prize packages as part of Halton’s Outdoor Water Use Program – Know Your Colour, Know Your Limits – which asks residents to be mindful of their outdoor water use during the summer months when water consumption often doubles. The contest grand prize is valued at over $1,200 and includes an At-Home Master Landscape Design Plan for gardens that feature drought tolerant plants from Sheridan Nurseries and more!
“Being water wise means taking simple measures like using drought tolerant plants in the garden, placing mulch around plants to prevent evaporation and using a broom or rake to clean your driveway instead of a hose,” said Halton’s Regional Chair, Gary Carr. “This contest promotes the importance of reducing outdoor water use to ensure a continuous supply of water during the summer months for emergency services such as firefighting.”
Contest prize packages include:
Grand Prize (valued at over $1,200): An At-Home Master Landscape Design Plan from Sheridan Nurseries, a $500 Sheridan Nurseries Gift Card towards the purchase of drought tolerant plants, a copy of The Canadian Illustrated Guide to Green Gardening and an Outdoor Watering Toolkit.
Second Prize (valued at over $400): In-Store Landscape Design Sketch from Sheridan Nurseries, a $250 Sheridan Nurseries Gift Card towards the purchase of drought tolerant plants and an Outdoor Watering Toolkit.
Third Prize (valued at over $275): In-Store Landscape Design Sketch from Sheridan Nurseries, a $150 Sheridan Nurseries Gift Card towards the purchase of drought tolerant plants and an Outdoor Watering Toolkit.
