
Halton Region will be holding a Special Waste Drop-off Day on Saturday July 24 to make the recycling of household hazardous waste and electronic waste more convenient to residents. The drop-off day will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Halton Regional Centre parking lot located at 1151 Bronte Road, near the QEW in Oakville.
“I encourage Halton residents to participate in the Region’s Special Waste Drop-off Day to help ensure that both hazardous wastes and electronic items are safely recycled or disposed of,” said Halton’s Regional Chair, Gary Carr.
Acceptable items for drop-off include computers, stereos, phones, TVs, VCRs, DVD players, computer monitors, pesticides, paint and stains, motor oil, antifreeze, batteries, fluorescent tubes and bulbs and pool chemicals. For a complete listing of acceptable items visit www.halton.ca/wastee.
The Special Waste Drop-off Day is for Halton residents only and no commercial wastes are accepted. Residents who cannot attend the Drop-off day can bring their hazardous waste and electronics to the Halton Waste Management Site located at 5400 Regional Road 25 in Milton, Monday to Saturday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Additional Special Waste Drop-off Days are planned for Saturday September 25 in Burlington and Saturday October 23 in Campbellville.
