Do you sing? Can you carry a tune? The Halton Regional Police Chorus is looking for civic minded people to join them in their love of singing and bringing joy to the community.
The chorus has been performing at community events and police functions for over twenty years. They have appeared at venues across the Halton Region, the province and even in the United States.
The chorus is comprised of Police Service and Community members who give freely of their time to promote harmony, good will and the Halton Regional Police Service.
They perform at local senior citizen homes and hospitals, as well as special community and police events and fundraising concerts.
The Director of the Chorus, Heide Lang and Accompanist, Greg Ferrin are both accomplished music educators. They have helped to create a world class chorus here in Halton.
The chorus performs in four part harmony and is looking to expand to meet the growing demands for their popular performances. It is hoped that the current membership can be doubled to create a much larger and more powerful performance.
Both men and women are welcome and there is no requirement to read music.
The chorus practice Tuesday nights from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Halton Police Headquarters.
Interested people are invited to attend an open house to meet and hear the chorus members and complete the application process on September 16th, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Halton Police Headquarters, Community Room located at 1151 Bronte Road Oakville.
