The Halton Regional Police Services Board announced today they have appointed Superintendent Bob Percy as Deputy Chief. He will commence his duties on April 21, 2008. Superintendent Percy is a 24 year veteran of the Halton Regional Police Service and is currently the Commander of # 2 District (Oakville).
“The Board was impressed with the skills, experience and commitment of all the candidates. By selecting an internal candidate, we recognized the depth of talent within the ranks of the Service,” said Mr. Bob Maich, Chairman of the Halton Regional Police Services Board.
“I am pleased with the Board’s selection and look forward to working with Bob Percy in his new capacity as Deputy Chief,” said Chief Gary Crowell adding “Bob’s breadth of policing experience will serve the community and our Service well.”
Deputy Chief Designate Bob Percy was appointed as a result of the retirement of the previous Deputy Chief. The official swearing in ceremony will take place in the near future.
The Halton Regional Police Services Board is a seven-member civilian Board that governs the Halton Regional Police. Under the Police Services Act, the Board is responsible for providing adequate and effective police services to the citizens of Halton Region.
