High Water Advisory February 17th, 2011

A developing low pressure system is expected to bring rain and mild weather to Ontario over the next few days creating the potential for localized flooding. The warm temperatures and rainfall over these days will assist in rapid melting of the snow pack resulting in increased stream flow. By late Friday temperatures will return to below zero causing freezing and mixed precipitation.

When you notice it has been raining hard and/or steadily, be alert to the possibility of flooding. Use a weather radio, regular radio, or television to listen for emergency information on a local station. No major issues are forecast at this time, however a close watch on local conditions and close and frequent monitoring of weather related forecasts and advisories is recommended.
