At the March 17th Council meeting the permanent merger of the Building Services Department and the Engineering and Public Works Department into the new Infrastructure Services Department was approved. Chris Mills, Director of Infrastructure Services & Town Engineer will head the new department consisting of the four core business areas: Building Services, Design and Construction, Development Engineering, and Public Works.

An Organizational Review was initiated in August of 2007 to explore different structure alternatives and included significant input from Staff through both surveys and interviews.

The Infrastructure Services Department will provide a level of integration that focuses on customer service and service delivery. An implementation plan is currently being developed by the management team to guide the transition of the new departmental structure. It is expected that the changes required to deliver the new structure will take until the end of the year to complete.
