This fall, the Halton Museum Foundation will once again host a monthly jazz concert series at the Halton Region Museum, located in Kelso Conservation Area in Milton.
“The Halton Region Museum’s concert series, Jazz at the Museum, is a great way to experience jazz at its finest,” said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr. “The venue is unique and intimate and the talent is spectacular.”
This critically acclaimed jazz series has developed a loyal following. Tickets can be purchased for $20.00 per person in advance by contacting the Museum at 905-875-2200. Limited tickets are available at the door and the ticket price includes light refreshments. There will be a cash bar with all proceeds from the event donated to the Halton Museum Foundation, the Museum’s independent fundraising arm that raises funds for capital projects at the Museum.
Performances are held in the Hearth Room in the Museum’s historic Alexander Barn and offer everything from jazz improv, Americana roots and blues to a harmonica trio. Concerts run from 2 to 4 p.m. on the following Sundays and doors open at 1:30 p.m.:
“In celebration of the Museum’s 50th anniversary, this fall we are also bringing back the enormously popular Hearthside Jazz event on Saturday, November 26, 2011,” said Nancy Field, Manager, Heritage Services. Hearthside will feature performances by James Brown, the Chris Platt Assemblage and the Vickie van Dyke Trio. Tickets for the evening are $75 and include dinner.
