On Sunday, December 11, from 2 to 4 p.m., the Halton Museum Foundation will host its final jazz concert for 2011 with a performance from the Ingo Andersen Harmonica Trio at the Halton Region Museum, located in Kelso Conservation Area in Milton.
“The Halton Region Museum is a beautiful location year round,” said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr. “And this has been a banner year for the Museum. Its 50th anniversary celebrations have included everything from the successful jazz series, the return of the Hearthside evening and Family Day, to its online Facebook presence launched in August. The final act of the jazz series is a perfect way to round out the Museum’s busy anniversary year.”
Originally from Denmark, Ingo Andersen is now a Burlington resident. His trio includes Wally Peterman and George Miklas. The trio performs a wide variety of material from jazz and show tunes to bluegrass.
“I invite residents to join us for this final jazz concert of the year,” said Nancy Field, Manager, Heritage Services. “Ingo’s music will bring a smile to your face and the performance promises to be a toe-tapping good time.”
Tickets are $20.00 per person in advance and limited tickets are available at the door. The ticket price includes light refreshments and a cash bar. All proceeds from the event are donated to the Halton Museum Foundation, the Museum’s independent fundraising arm that raises funds for capital projects at the Museum. The performances will be held in the Hearth Room in the Museum’s historic Alexander Barn. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.
The Museum is now putting the finishing touches on the new jazz series for 2012.
