The Halton Museum Foundation and the Halton Region Museum are pleased to announce the line-up for the 2011 Jazz at the Museum series. Concerts take place in the Halton Region Museum’s Hearth Room, every second Sunday of the month from January to May.

“Since the jazz series began in 2009, it has been growing in popularity,” said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr. “These fundraising events for the Foundation support the museum’s capital renovation campaign and are the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon of entertainment while contributing to the sustainability of the Museum. The exciting new line-up promises to grow the fan base even further.”

Jazz at the Museum 2011 kicks off on Sunday, January 9 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. with JP Saxe and Trading Hearts. Band members, Jesse Gold on vocals and guitar and Jack Emblem on percussion, join JP in playing modern jazz with an R&B and blues influence. “This young band likes to connect with audiences through their music,” said Steve Baker, Museum Foundation Chairman and Jazz Series spokesperson. “Their performance will be an inspiring kick off to the new year.”

The series continues through to May. On Sunday, February 13, the Museum will present a special Valentine’s Day event with Paul Pacanowski. On Sunday, April 10 celebrated singer and musician Christopher Plock will take the stage. In addition to his varied repertoire (Jazz, Blues, Funk, R&B and Pop), Christopher and his trio will perform tracks from his CD, “Blueskies For Loveday.”
