The goal of Mums ‘n Chums is to create a friendly, supportive online community for local parents. The site was developed by the local design company Mocoda Interactive and offers several helpful and entertaining features, including an active blog, bi-monthly book club, forum and live chat. Users on the Mums ‘n Chums forum are able to share ideas, recipes, organize social groups, post classifieds and more.
Founder Sara Hodge hopes Mums ‘n Chums will help local parents connect:
“It can be pretty awkward getting to know other parents when you’re out in public. Conversations on the playground never last long because you’re chasing your kids! On the forum, you can choose topics that interest you, join in the conversation and get to know people that way. You can even form local meet-up groups and have a whole new social circle.”
