New Sustainability Webpages: www.haltonhills.ca/sustainability

Committed to engaging and inspiring the Halton Hills community to join the Town on its sustainability journey through effective communication, the Town has launched new sustainability webpages. These webpages are dedicated to the subject of sustainability.

The new content is presented in a dedicated location, and in a concise and visually attractive manner. These webpages can be viewed at: www.haltonhills.ca/sustainability

Speaking about the new webpages, Mayor Bonnette noted that “The new sustainability content is a convenient and helpful resource that will enable residents, businesses and institutions to more easily join the Town on its sustainability journey. This new content will also help facilitate a community-wide paradigm shift whereby sustainability is integrated into the decision making processes of the Town as well as of the community at large.”

The sustainability webpages were developed with the following four objectives in mind:

1. Build on the Green Plan and generate momentum for future sustainability efforts by profiling the sustainability efforts and achievements of the Town, residents, local groups, businesses and institutions;
2. Engage and inspire the community to be more sustainable by providing information on (i) sustainability; (ii) useful water and energy conservation tips; (iii) financial incentives; (iv) sustainable community events; as well as by (v) providing a resource library;
3. Function as an effective communication and community engagement tool where the Halton Hills community is invited and encouraged to provide feedback on the Town’s sustainability efforts; and
4. Help facilitate a community-wide paradigm shift whereby sustainability is integrated into the decision making processes of the Town (as a corporation), residents, businesses and institutions.
