Every October, public libraries in our province celebrate Ontario Public Library Week. This year Halton Hills Public Library has an extra reason to celebrate as we launch a new era of library service! Each day will bring something new to the citizens of Halton Hills:
On Tuesday, October 20th we will officially launch our new interactive catalogue, BIBLICOMMONS. This new catalogue has all of the existing features that our users love, plus a whole host of new features, including the ability to review and rate materials, create lists, add and watch video content, connect with other users, locate materials faster, and track your borrowing history.
On Wednesday, October 21 we will introduce OverDrive Digital Audiobooks. With OverDrive you’ll be able to download digital audiobooks 24/7 and transfer them to your iPod, Zune or other portable device! Using your library card, you’ll be able to search, check out and download great titles. It’s perfect for on-the-go book lovers!
On Thursday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m. join us at the Georgetown Branch at 9 Church Street for our open house! We’ll be showcasing the latest designs for our new Georgetown facility. Everyone is welcome!
On Friday, October 23 it’s Community Appreciation Day! Join us for a piece of cake in either branch as we show our appreciation to our wonderful users!
And on Saturday, October 24 we will be having a PRIZE DRAW for some beautiful gift baskets. Ballots for the gift baskets will be available all week.
