Pedestrian Struck and Killed in HALTON HILLS

On the 21st of February 2008 at approximately 1:30 p.m. members of the Halton Police, Emergency Medical Services were advised about a pedestrian who was struck by a motor vehicle on Winston Churchill Boulevard north of 5 Side Road, in Halton Hills.

Police responded and found a female lying on the west side of the road with severe injuries.  The female had sustained severe injuries.  Police personnel immediately provided first aid until Emergency Medical Services arrived.  Once paramedics arrived, they transported the female to the Georgetown Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

The female pedestrian was a 50 year old resident of Halton Hills.  Her name is not being released until investigators are able to meet with immediate family members in person.

While at the scene, Police located the driver of the motor vehicle who had struck the female.  He was a 29 year old resident of Toronto and was uninjured.

The investigation is ongoing by members of the Regional Investigative Services – Collision Reconstruction Unit.  Witnesses are asked to contact D/Cst Steve Anderson at 905-878-5511 extension 2380.
