Results of Multi-Agency Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspection Lanes

The Halton Regional Police Service, other police agencies and provincial partners conducted truck safety inspections on October 20th and 21st, at the Mohawk Race Track parking lot, Campbellville.

The coordinated effort involved, the Halton Regional Police Commercial Motor Vehicle Unit, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of the Environment, Region of Halton – Health Department, Conservation Halton, Ontario Provincial Police, Toronto Police Service, York Regional Police, Peel Regional Police and Guelph Police Service.

158 commercial motor vehicles were inspected during the two days, and of those, 61 were placed out of service for safety violations (38.61% fail rate).

A total of 144 Provincial Offence notices were issued for various offences including: safety issues, load security, weight and dimension violations, improper documents and two charges under the Smoke Free Ontario Act.
