Robbery averted by woman at Georgetown ATM machine

Armed Robber

The Halton Regional Police Service is investigating an attempted robbery at the TD Canada Trust located at 29 Main Street South, in Georgetown.

On October 24th shortly after 6:30 am a female was making a deposit of an undisclosed amount of money at the Automated Teller Machine. A lone male entered the ATM vestibule, shoved the victim and grabbed the cash envelope she was caring.

The victim struggled with the suspect and was able to retrieve her envelope. The suspect then fled the area on foot. The victim did not suffer any injuries as a result of the robbery attempt.

The suspect is described as: male, white, 19 to 22 years old, 5’7”, clean shaven, short blonde hair. The suspect wore a dark coloured jacket, camouflage pants, white running shoes and a dark baseball cap with a sport team logo on the front.
