The start of a new school year is days away and the Town is asking for the public’s cooperation and to please adhere to the parking signs around schools in order to keep all school entrances safe and congestion free. There are many students and very limited parking.

“Nothing is more important that the safety of our children. Remember children are carefree not careless. Let’s do our part to keep them safe,” said Mayor Rick Bonnette. People are encouraged to walk or cycle whenever possible even if it’s only the last five minutes. Walking or cycling minimizes the congestion around schools and promotes healthy living not to mention being environmentally friendly.

To help prevent problems around schools, Halton Regional Police Services, the Town of Halton Hills’s Parking Enforcement Officers and Town staff work together to ensure students, parents and staff members of local schools know where to park safely and
legally. They are on the lookout for illegally parked cars and motorists who park in contravention of the Parking By-laws will be ticketed.
