Sophisticated Marihuana Grow Operation Dismantled in Norval

On the 11th of September 2009, members of the Halton Police Guns and Gangs Unit, executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrant at 8748 Winston Churchill Boulevard, (Norval/Georgetown) Halton Hills. The Guns and Gangs Unit was assisted by members of the Emergency Services Unit, Tactical and Police Dog Services.

Investigators located a sophisticated room containing a Marihuana “Grow Wheel”. Police seized 745 marihuana plants at various stages of growth. Investigators estimate the street value of the seized plants in excess of $150,000 As a result of this investigation; two individuals were arrested and charged jointly.

Charged:
John BLAIR (57 years of age)
Steve SIMON (54 years of age)

Charges:
Produce a Controlled Substance
Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking

BLAIR and SIMON were released from custody on a Form 10, 11.1 and are scheduled to appear in Milton Court on the 20th of October, 2009.

Investigators encourage the citizens of Halton to utilize Crime Stoppers to report on illegal gun, gang or drug activity.
