The Town of Halton Hills wants your input to assist in the development of the 2031 Transportation Master Plan (TMP). You can voice your thoughts through the public opinion survey and get involved by attending the upcoming Public Information Centres.
The Town of Halton Hills, through their consultant Hatch Mott MacDonald, has initiated a Transportation Master Plan study to develop an integrated transportation plan and associated strategies that will consider different modes of travel to meet road network challenges up to 2031.
The project will define the existing problems and opportunities, consider and evaluate solutions, and identify an optimum transportation system that can accommodate the existing and future developments.
Mayor Rick Bonnette stated that “The Transportation Master Plan is a wonderful opportunity for our community to retain its unique character, while allowing for the evolution of a sustainable transportation system. I encourage the community to be involved in this important process and complete the survey.”
Our first initiative includes a public opinion survey which is now available. It is accessible through the Town’s website www.haltonhills.ca/tmp and follow the links. You will be directed to a survey through Survey Monkey and we encourage you to provide your comments/feedback and concerns. What you think is important. Help create a Transportation Master Plan that works for your needs and your Town!
Chris Mills, the Director of Infrastructure Services and Town Engineer encourages all to participate and indicated that “The Transportation Master Plan is a valuable tool for the development of an efficient transportation system to 2031.”
To help the public get involved, the Town is planning two Public Information Centres (PICs). The first PIC is scheduled for February 10, 2011 at Mold Masters Arena at 221 Guelph Street in Georgetown. The PIC will be an open house format starting at 6:00 PM with a presentation at 7:00 PM by the consultant on the project progress.
