
On Friday September 9th, 2011 at 2:52 a.m., Halton Regional Police were called to a serious single – motor vehicle crash on Winston Churchill Boulevard in Georgetown.
A Honda, operated by a 22-yr-old Brampton man, was southbound, south of #10 Side Road when he lost control on a curve and crashed head-on into a large tree.
The driver was taken by ambulance to Milton District Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries, then released to the custody of police where he was arrested for Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
The two passengers, 23 and 24 yr old men, were taken by ambulances to Georgetown Hospital to be stabilized. Two air ambulances were then called in to transport the men; one to Sunnybrook and the other to Hamilton General. Both are in critical condition.
Winston Churchill Blvd. was closed for 6 hours while members of the Collision Reconstruction Unit (C.R.U.) collected evidence at the scene.
Additional charges may be laid against the driver pending further investigation and condition of the injured men. The names of all three involved men will not be released by police at this time pending notification of next-of-kin.
