A 33 yr old Vaughan man has been convicted and sentenced in Milton Provincial Offences Court on charges stemming from a February 2008 traffic fatality.

On February 21st, 2008 Carolyn McTAVISH, age 50, of Georgetown was struck and killed by a car as she retrieved her mail from her rural mailbox on Winston Churchill Boulevard in Halton Hills.

Male, age 33, of Maple has been convicted of Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act. He was fined $1000.00. The Justice of the Peace further imposed a twelve month driving suspension.

Sgt. Paul Davies says “The professional and dedicated efforts of the Halton Regional Police Collision Reconstruction Unit contributed to this successful conviction. While we are cognizant of the frustrations felt by the family of Ms. McTavish in the process taking over two years to be resolved in court, we are satisfied that justice has been dispensed on this matter.”
