Home Depot Canada associates volunteers

(NC) – When it comes to volunteering your time and know-how every little bit makes a difference. From helping build a home for a family in need to providing a safe place for kids to play – there are numerous charitable organizations in Canada seeking volunteers. Each year, The Home Depot Canada associates volunteer over 60,000 hours of hands-on service to local projects across the country. The Home Depot Canada Foundation has charitable partners in your communities that offer great ways to get involved:

Habitat for Humanity – Whether you are hammering nails or lugging bricks, join a build and see the fruits of your labour as you contribute to building a new home for a family in need. Visit www.habitat.ca for more information.

KaBOOM! – Many fond childhood memories take place at the playground. Contribute to someone’s childhood by lending a helping hand to build a community playground.

Evergreen – Green space provides both ecological and social benefits that contribute to a healthy, sustainable community. Help bring nature back to our cities and towns by volunteering to plant trees and gardens. You can learn more online at www.evergreen.ca.

Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada – Make a difference in a child’s life by volunteering your time at one of over 100 clubs across Canada. Boys and Girls Clubs provide youth the opportunity to grow, learn and play in a safe, supportive environment. More information can be found at www.bgccan.com.

In addition to supporting its partners in hundreds of local projects, The Home Depot Canada Foundation is proud to support the building of sustainable homes and communities through its Affordable Housing and Community Grants Programs. These grant programs provide funding to registered Canadian charitable organizations or municipalities undertaking sustainable neighbourhood or affordable housing projects. If you are interested in getting involved in one of these organizations or applying for a grant, more information is available online at www.homedepot.ca/foundation.
